The City of Aachen and Parkstad Limburg are responsible for the realisation of the event.
The event will take place in Kerkrade, Netherlands. Data protection is guaranteed within the framework of the EU Data Protection Regulation. The protection of personal data is an important concern for the City of Aachen (D) and the Stadsregio Parkstad Limburg (NL). We observe the common European principles on data protection of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the national regulations on data protection and we collect and use your personal data in accordance with all legal requirements. All data transmission is encrypted.
Data security and communication by email
Your personal data is protected by technical and organisational measures during collection, storage and processing in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties. However, we cannot guarantee complete data security when communicating by e-mail that is not secured by encryption certificates (De-Mail, qualified digital signature). Please bear in mind that your e-mail content is not transmitted in encrypted form. We therefore accept no liability for any unauthorised access by third parties that may occur during the transmission of unencrypted e-mails.
The following personal data will be processed:
Information required for your registration: Title, first and last name, country of residence/country of professional practice, e-mail address, telephone number, name of the organisation;
Information required for access to the event venue: Date of birth and nationality; for VIP guests, the following personal data will be processed: First and last name, function (minister, ambassador, etc.);
photos, audio and video recordings and web streaming related to the 10th European Summit of Regions and Cities. You can give your consent via the event registration form or at the registration desk during the event.

Your rights under the EU GDPR
As a user, you are entitled under Art. 15 GDPR to request information from us free of charge about the personal data stored about you at any time without giving reasons. If data processing is based on personal consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent without giving reasons in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR. This does not apply to the use of your data that has already taken place in the past, but only for the future. In accordance with Art. 16, 17, 18 GDPR, you can have your data processed by us corrected, deleted or blocked at any time if, in your opinion, your data is incorrect or there is no longer any reason to process it. You also have the right under Art. 20 GDPR to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format, provided that the data was provided by you by way of consent or on the basis of a contract and the processing of this data was previously carried out using an automated process. In addition, you may object to data processing that is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e) GDPR for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR
You can send this objection and the assertion of your rights either by post or by e-mail to the person or body responsible. Finally, we would like to draw your attention to your right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR.
